WolfEvents Deutschland

Conventionnews

Allgemeines Liebes Wolfsrudel,

Announcement: Tony Amendola

Trinity in Space

WolfEvents are delighted to anounce Tony Amendola as a guest for our TRINITY IN SPACE Convention! From November 21 – 23, he too, will be visiting the relexa hotel in Bad Salzderfurth. He will answer your questions, sign autographs and be at the photo sessions. And, who knows, maybe he will run one of the workshops, too?

Foto 7 von Tony Tony has spent many a day filming on the set of Stargate SG-1, and even though he is not a main cast member, he is well known to the audience: he plays Bra'tac, the mentor of Jaffa-warrior Teal'c. Bra'tac is a Jaffa, himself, and values duty and honor a lot. He has a funny side, but still surrounded by a "No Nonsense" air, which Colonel O'Neill has to deal with from time to time. This is not just a character trait Bra'tac has, but some of it also belongs to his actor, Tony Amendola.

Christopher Judge, who often, in his role as Teal'c, stood on Tony's side to look grim and firm at the some opposition or other, describes his colleague and friend as follows: "I love working with Tony Amendola who plays Bra'tac - he really makes you elevate your game every time he comes into town, because he is so capable of making you look really bad on screen without even trying."

Picture of Tony from the Zorro movieThe question of how Tony came to be host to a symbiote he answers as follows: "'d just returned from Mexico and I had been doing the Mask of Zorro." And his agent called and said there was this interesting audition. For an alien warrior. Who is 133 years old. Which disconcerted Tony a bit: "'Which is ... [rather old]... give me a break!' - And so I looked at it and it was great fun and it was something... I like variety, so I had just lived in 19th century Mexico and I thought okay, this will be fun. Although it's contemporary, I'll go to a different world. So [...]I went down and met Paul Webber and did the audition. And luckily from Zorro my hair was actually sort of long, because I didn't know about the cap [which Bra'tac usually wears] or anything like that ... And [the audition] went very, very well! They called me and I went and I was very pleased to find out, no prosthetics."

Audiences have mixed reactions to faces hidden by prosthetics. But so do actors. Tony Amendola is often quoted for saying the following: "There are two kinds of actors – those that hate prosthetics, and those, that cannot wait to get to wear them!"

So he was relieved. But also slightly disconcerted. Because: No prothetics. "But I was also sort of somewhat insulted." Since they thought his face, with any changes, would look like the face of a 133 year-old. "But they assured me these beings were in great shape and that Bra'tac was in great shape!"

Well, we will see what kind of shape Mr. Amendola is in, when he has to deal with not only the long flight to Germany, but also to face the big and expectant eyes of the wolf pack. Don't eat him, wolflings!!

Announcement: Andee Frizzell

Trinity in Space

The Queen is on Her Way! Andee Frizzell, Wraithqueen in "Stargate Atlantis", will come to join us in Bad Salzdetfurth. In the pilot of the series she played the role of the Keeper - and later on The Hivequeen. Her face, of course, is hidden behind a mask (which sometimes is referred to as the Marylin Manson Make Up). Her real face and beauty was shown in shows like "Supernatural", "First Wave" and "Andromeda". Maybe she will even tell us a few tales from her time shooting "Blood: A Butcher's Tale", the horror movie for which she worked side by side with Aaron Douglas - who is known from "Battlestar Galactica" and joined Wolf Events in Bad Salzdetfurth in 2006 for the Battlestar Atlantia Convention.
